The anime adaptation of Yongje Park’s popular webtoon series, God of High School, is one of the biggest hits of the ongoing Summer 2020 anime season so far. Mappa is animating the series, with American anime streaming service Crunchyroll helping out in the production. And now, Crunchyroll has released a making of video for the hit battle anime:

The video shows off what happens in MAPPA when they produce the anime. It also features commentaries from director Sunghoo Park and Animation director Wataru Kawagoe, as well as creator Yongje Park. It also shows off several processes on how they animated some of the series’ awesome fight sequences, and of course, a bit of the motion capture processes as well.

Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the anime’s story:

Jin Mori has proclaimed himself the strongest high schooler. His life changes when he’s invited to participate in “God of High School,” a tournament to determine the strongest high schooler of all. He’s told that if he wins, any wish he makes will be granted… All the participants are powerful contenders who fight their hardest for their own wishes. What awaits them at the end of the tournament? A chaotic battle between unbelievably strong high school students is about to begin!

While Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in North America, Muse Asia is currently streaming the series for free here in Southeast Asia. Here is the first episode:
