Akane Shimizu’s Cells at Work! manga is inspiring a new feature-length anime movie! Its title is Tokubetsu Jouei-ban “Hataraku Saibou!!” Saikyou no Teki, Futatabi. Karada no Naka wa “Chou” Oosawagi!. And now, the anime’s official Twitter Page has released a brand new trailer for the film:

They also released a brand new visual for the movie, as well as announced additional cast members:
These cast members include:
- Yuri Yoshida as Lactic Acid Bacteria (Black)
- Rie Takahashi as Lactic Acid Bacteria (Red)
- Natsumi Fujiwara as Lactic Acid Bacteria (Panda)
- Yurika Kubo as Lactic Acid Bacteria (Buchi)
The movie will be covering Vol. 5 of the manga’s tankoubob release. It will premiere on September 5, 2020 in Japan, though the storyline will also be a part of the second season of Cells At Work!
Null & Peta’s Hirofumi Ogura will be the new director, with David Production returning to animate the series. Takahiko Yoshida is returning as the character designer as well! And that’s not all, because Cells At Work! isn’t just getting an anime movie and a second season, but its spin-off, Cells At Work! Code Black, is also getting a TV anime as well.
