Netflix will be adapting CAOCOM’s RPG, Dragon’s Dogma, and they’re working with animation studio, Sublimation. And now, they have announced that the new anime will debut around the world on September 17, 2020. They also revealed a brand new key visual for this new Netflix-exclusive anime:
Aside from this new key visual, the staff also released new stills from the upcoming anime:
Netflix also announced new cast members as well, with Shin’ya Sugai directing the series for Sublimation. Yowamushi Pedal’s Kurasumi Sunayama will be writing the script, while Ghost in the Shell Arise animation director Iku Nishimura is doing the character designs.
Here’s how Netflix describes the anime:
The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.
CAPCOM first released Dragon’s Dogma for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 back i2012. It then got an expanded version with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, also for the Xbox 360 and PS3, in April 2013. PC and Switch releases also followed.
