It looks like there’s some bad news for Jrock fans everywhere, as ONE OK ROCK leader and guitarist Toru Yamashita has tested positive for COVID-19. According to Oricon News, Yamashita woke up with fever and chills last Monday morning, and this led to a PCR test later that day. The test would then reveal that the rocker is infected with the disease that has drastically changed the world.

Yamashita is currently hospitalized in a Tokyo hospital. However, the good news is that he’s in stable condition. As for his bandmates, the official website for ONE OK ROCK’s entertainment agency, Amuse Inc, has confirmed that they haven’t made contact with Yamashita recently. No word on whether they will also undergo testing as well.

Amuse Inc. also released a statement regarding Yamashita’s infection. They have set up an internal committee, and it seeks to ensure that the artistes and employees remain healthy as they continue their activities. This committee will also ensure that venues will be properly disinfected and ventilated, and will take sufficient measures, such as ensuring that everyone is wearing masks.
