Hideaki Sorachi’s Gintama franchise has been quite infamous for trolling fans. However, every now and then, they tell the truth. This time, it looks like they’re telling the truth, as the staff revealed that the upcoming anime movie will be adapting the manga’s ending. They also revealed a new key visual featuring 36 of the series’ characters.
Previously, the anime’s staff announced that the movie will really be the finale for the franchise… for real this time. And as the visual above states, it will make its Japanese premiere on January 8, 2021.
And 2021 also seems to be a big year for the 4th wall-breaking franchise. It won’t just feature the “final” anime movie, but also a new anime special. It will be coming sometime in early 2021. It will tie in with the movie.
The manga is quite infamous, not just for trolling its fans, but for also parodying other anime and manga, as well as video games, Japanese and Western pop culture, and of course, breaking the 4th wall. Kinda like Deadpool, but Japanese.
So, what do you guys think? Are they trolling us again, or is this really the final Gintama movie?
