Netflix and Sublimation are working together to adapt Capcom’s popular Dragon’s Dogma video game franchise into an anime. And now, Netflix Japan’s official YouTube channel has released the upcoming anime’s OP video. Composer Tadayoshi Makino, who worked on the original game, also composed the music for the OP.
The anime will be released globally via the streaming service in September 17. As expected, it will be a Netflix exclusive. In addition, they also released a brand new key visual for the anime as well:
Shin’ya Sugai is directing the series for Sublimation. Yowamushi Pedal’s Kurasumi Sunayama will be writing the script, while Ghost in the Shell Arise animation director Iku Nishimura is doing the character designs.
Here’s how Netflix describes the anime:
The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.
CAPCOM first released Dragon’s Dogma for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 back in 2012. It then got an expanded version with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, also for the Xbox 360 and PS3, in April 2013. PC and Switch releases also followed.
