Just in case you missed it, Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King manga is gettimg a remake. And now, the anime’s staff have now released a brand new PV! It makes several announcements, including its April 2021 release window. They also announced members of its staff and cast as well.
The cast will include:
- Youko Hikasa as Yoh Asakura
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Amidamaru
- Megumi Hayashibara as Anna Kyouyama
- Minami Takayama as Hao Asakura
Joji Furuta will be directing the remake, with Bridge animating it. Pokemon’s Shoji Yonemura is writing the script, while Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun’s Satohiko Sano is designing the characters.
As previously announced, this new anime will be a complete adaptation of the manga. This means that it will adapt all 35 volumes of the manga’s new complete edition.
The manga first made its debut in 1998 inside the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump magazine. It abruptly ended in 2004 before getting a “True Ending” in 2009. It would then get short story manga chapters, as well as a sequel series, Chaman King Flowers, which ran from 2012-2014. Of course, it also received a popular TV anime adaptation which ran from 2001-2002.
