It looks like the lovable snake demon is returning, as Yukiwo’s Dropkick on My Devil! manga is getting a third TV anime season. The series’ official Twitter page made the announcement as their crowdfunding campaign surpassed its 20 million yen goal in just 33 hours.
Unfortunately, we may not be able to get that new season for at least about a year or so, as the anime’s website has admitted that production for this new season might take a year or so. They’re aiming to release this new season sometime in 2022, which is when the manga will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
For the crowdfunding campaign, rewards for backers include an illustration from mangaka Yukiwo, a message from Jashin-chan’s seiyuu, Aina Suzuki, and two new songs from the anime’s two seiyuu units, Fallen Pop and the Destiny Noisy. There are also many other rewards for backers as well, including having their name listed in the anime’s ED credits. Those who pledged 22,000 yen can even create the titles for episodes, and one backer who pledged 1.1 million yen can even name the title for the third season. So far, no title has been decided yet.
Here’s how Amazon Prime describes the first season’s story:
Jashin-chan, a devil from Hell was abruptly summoned to the human world by Yurine Hanazono, a stoic college student who lives in a run-down apartment in Jinbocho. They’re forced to become roommates since Yurine doesn’t know how to send Jashin-chan back. But according to Jashin-chan, she could return by killing Yurine, so she takes action…?! A viperous roomie comedy that keeps you on your toes!
