After getting its COVID-19 delay, fans still haven’t given up on Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time. And now, Studio Khara has announced that the final Rebuild of Evangelion movie will open in Japanese theaters on January 23, 2021! They also dropped a brand new trailer for the upcoming movie as well:

Previously, director and creator Hideaki Anno stated that the anime will be coming later than expected. The movie was supposed to open in Japan on June 27, 2020 after eight years of waiting. Unfortunately, COVID-19 delayed the anime a bit further, and we now it will premiere in Japan in January.

Studio Khara will once again be animating the movie, with creator Hideaki Anno (Shin Godzilla) also returning to direct it as well. Hideaki Anno’s Studio Khara announced the film back in 2012. Unfortunately, Anno’s personal issues, as well as other issues, kept pushing the film back.
