Nagaru Tanigawa has written a new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel, and this is the first one in over nine years! Its title is The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokkan), and it looks like it’s getting an English translation! Yen Press has announced that they will release the book in print next year, in June 2021 to be exact!
In addition, Yen Press also announced that they’re rereleasing previous Haruhi Suzumiya light novels as well. The releases will be under their Yen On imprint, and they will kick off with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya on January 2021. The rerelease will be on paperback and will feature Noizi Ito’s original artwork for the Japanese releases.
This new novel will feature 3 stories, and will have more than 250 pages. One of these stories will be a new story titled “Tsuruya’s Challenge”. The other two stories are the “Nana Fushigi Overtime” (Seven Wonders Overtime) short story, as well as the “Atezuppo Numbers” (Guesswork Numbers) short story.
Tanigawa released the last novel back in 2011, so it really has been a lot of time since they released one. The novels itself inspired “two” TV anime seasons and one TV anime spin-off, as well as an anime movie.
