Ladies and gentlemen, he’s baaaaaaaaaaaack! Infamous Japanese writer, Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero), is back with a new anime. It’s a completely 3DCG anime titled OBSOLETE, and Bandai Namco Arts’ official YouTube channel is now streaming the series. Here is Episode 1, titled “Outcast”:

The channel is now streaming the first six episodes. Bandai Namco Arts will then begin streaming episodes 7-12 starting December 1st. The episodes are available in Japanese audio, as well as English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Indonesian dubs. They also come with English subtitles as well, in Closed Captions of course.

Bandai Namco Arts describes the story as:

In 2014, aliens begin to trade the consciousness-controlled multi-purpose robot “EXOFRAMES” with earth. The military potential of the EXOFRAMES disrupt the current world-order. In 2022, as the world begins to sink into chaos, some stand to intervene in the conflict between Ecuador and Peru. A unit that shouldn’t exist is formed: The U.S. Marine Corps EXOFRAME Force Recon…

The anime is a YouTube Original, and it first premiered its first six episodes in December 2019 for paid users. But now, they are finally releasing the first episodes for free. They will stream a new episode per week starting December 1.

Hiroki Yamada and Seiichi Shirato are co-directing the series over CG studio Buemon. And of course, the legendary and infamous Urobutcher himself, Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero, Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass) is writing the story.
