My Hero Academia fans, rejoice! This is because the 52nd issue of Weekly Shounen Jump magazine has announced that My Hero Academia is getting a new anime movie! This will be the third film in the franchise, and it will open in Japan in Summer 2021. And just like the two previous anime movies, mangaka Kouhei Horikoshi will be serving as both original character designer and chief supervisor.
In the mangaka’s comments section of that issue of Weekly Shounen Jump, Horikoshi admitted that he cannot say anything yet. However, he did promise that he should be able to annouce it soon. Meanwhile, the official Twitter accounts for the My Hero Academia television anime, movies, and manga have posted a series of visuals, as seen in the image above. They come with the tagline “HE WILL MEET ‘THE THREE MUSKETEERS’.”
As for the TV anime, a fifth season is coming in Spring 2021, so it looks like the movie will be premiering close to the TV series’ airing. Expect the staff to announce more details about both the TV anime and the movie in the days to come.
