Fans have been waiting long for the World Trigger anime to return. And now that it’s coming back, the staff made some very big announcements. First, the anime’s first two episodes will receive a theatrical streaming release with exclusive footage. It will screen in Japanese theatres from December 25 to January 7. Next, they revealed a brand new PV:

As previously announced, the anime will premiere on January 9, 2020. The theatrical screenings will be an advance look at the upcoming new season of the anime.

Morio Hatano will be the new season’s director, with Hiroyuki Yoshino returning to supervise the anime’s scripts. And much like the first two seasons, Toei Animation will also be handling the animation production as well. TV Asahi will be airing this new season in Japan.

Much of the cast from the first season are reprising their roles for this third anime, and they are:

  • Tomo Muranaka as Yuuma Kuga
  • Yuuki Kaji as Osamu Mikumo
  • Nao Tamura as Chika Amatori
  • Yuuichi Nakamura as Yuuichi Jin
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hyuse

They also announced some additional cast members, including:

  • Hisao Egawa as Gatlin
  • Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Ratarikov
  • Mie Sonozaki as Wen
  • Sou Kenjiro Tsuda as Koskero
  • Ayumu Murase as Reghindetz
  • Ryoko Shiraishi as Yomi
