We are getting a brand new Pokemon anime movie with Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, also known as Pokemon the Movie: Koko. And now, the Pokemon official YouTube channel has released two brand new trailers. The first video features the anime movie’s OP theme song, “Koko” by Beverly. Meanwhile, the second videa features the main theme song, “Fushigina Fushigina Ikimono” by Tortoise Matsumoto.

The staff also released a brand new key visual featuring the movie’s main character, Koko, along with Pikachu. And if the art style looks familiar, it’s because Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, who worked on Makoto Shinkai’s The Garden of Words anime movie as the background artist, illustrated that new visual!

This new movie will have an original story set in Okoya Forest. It is a Pokemon sanctuary, and outsiders are forbidden from entering it. There, Ash and Pikachu encounter a boy named Koko, a wild child raised by the mythical Pokemon Zarude. Its theme will be “Humans raised by Pokemon,” much like Tarzan’s and The Jungle Book’s “Human raised by animals” story.

OLM will once again be producing the animation, just like they did for previous Pokemon films and TV anime. Tetsuo Yajima, who previously directed Pokemon The Movie: Power of Us, will be at the helm of the anime as well. It will premiere in Japan on Christmas day, December 25, 2020.
