Fans of Japanese horror, rejoice! TV Tokyo has announced that the ever=popular horror anime TV series, Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories, is getting itself an eighth TV anime season! This season 8 will premiere in January 2021, and the staff also revealed a new key visual as well:

For this new season, Kanji Tsuda will indeed be reprising his role as the Storyteller. The staff also confirmed that the new ED song is titled “Twilight feat. Pecori” by Imai. ILCA is producing the anime once again, with production cooperation by TIA DRAWIZ.

These anime shorts have gained notariety for packing in scary Japanese stories based on urban legends in just six minutes. The series takes both well known and obscure Japanese urban legends and retells them in a more modern setting.

Expect the staff to announce more details about  this new season in the days to come.
