Gintama The Final anime movie reveals latest trailer, cashes in on Demon Slayer popularity
Warner Brothers Japan has now released a brand new trailer for Gintama’s so-called “final” movie, titled Gintama The Final. The new video also introduces us to the movie’s two theme songs. These are the insert song “Douraku Shinjou” by DOES and the theme song “Wadachi” by none other than SPYAIR.
And with fellow-Jump manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s recent box office dominance, it looks like Gintama is joining in on the hype. Several participating theaters around Japan will be handing out exclusive Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba illustration cards. Gintama mangaka Hideaki Sorachi illustrated them himself, and they will feature Tanjirou and the Hashira. They will distribute them in the first week of screening, and the anime’s website will reveal more details in the days to come.
As for the movie itself, it will make its premiere in Japanese theaters on January 8, 2021. And speaking of 2021, next year also seems to be a big year for the 4th wall-breaking franchise. It won’t just feature the “final” anime movie, but also a new anime special. It will be coming sometime in early 2021. It will tie in with the movie. Meanwhile, fans still don’t believe this will be the “final” Gintama anime due to the franchise’s history of trolling fans.
