Gintama Web Anime Special titled Gintama The Semi-Final, will have 2 episodes
The Japanese streaming service, dTV, has now revealed new details on the upcoming Gintama web anime special. The new anime will tie in to the upcoming Gintama The Final movie. dTV announced that its title will be Gintama The Semi-Final, and it will run for two episodes. They also revealed a brand new key visual for the upcoming anime:
dTV will stream the anime exclusively starting January 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, as for the movie itself, it will make its premiere in Japanese theaters on January 8, 2021. This means that we’re not just getting the special in January, but the movie as well. Gintama The Final will be adapting the manga’s finale… with a few new story elements. This is Gintama of course, so expect they will be adding some new stuff in there.
And with fellow-Jump manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s recent box office dominance, it looks like Gintama is joining in on the hype. Several participating theaters around Japan will be handing out exclusive Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba illustration cards. Gintama mangaka Hideaki Sorachi illustrated them himself, and they will feature Tanjirou and the Hashira. They will distribute them in the first week of screening, and the anime’s website will reveal more details in the days to come.
