The anime adaptation of Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu’s THE PROMISED NEVERLAND is getting a much-deserved second season. In fact, it’s one of 2021’s most anticipated anime. And now, the staff have unveiled a brand new key visual. It features two sides, one featuring Emma and the other kids, while the other features the demon Mujika, as well as teases other demons:

The second season itself will premiere on January 7, 2021.They originally scheduled the anime to premiere in October 2020. Unfortunately, with COVID-19 causing animation production delays everywhere. However, with the January 7 release date announcement, we can now breathe easier just a little bit.

Netflix is now streaming the anime’s first season here in Southeast Asia. Here’s how Viz, which distributes the manga in North America, describes the manga’s story:

Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
