The official Toho movie channel has been releasing several new clips for the upcoming Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The MOVIE. The latest one teases a kiss scene between Chibiusa and Helios.

They also previously released a couple of TV ads featuring the Sailor Senshi, as well as an ad for the 2-part movie series’ story:

Meanwhile, the staff also released a brand new key visual for the movie. It announces that the first movie will premiere in January 8, 2021, while the second movie will make its premiere on February 11, 2021. They originally planned to release the first movie in Japan on September 11. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed both movies.

Much of the cast from the Sailor Moon Crystal TV anime will be returning for the movie. They are:

  • Kotono Mitsuishi as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon
  • Hisako Kanemoto as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury
  • Rina Satou as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars
  • Ami Koshimizu as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter
  • Shizuka Itou as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus
  • Misato Fukuen as Chibi-Usa/Sailor Chibi Moon

The staff also confirmed that Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will be joining the cast as Helios/Pegasus in the movie. Actress Nanao will also be joining the cast as Queen Nehellenia, leader of the Dead Moon. Meanwhile, Momoiro Clover Z and the main cast are performing the theme song “Tsukiiro Chainon”.

The films celebrate the Sailor Moon franchise’s silver or 25th anniversary. It will serve as a direct sequel to the TV anime and will be adapting the manga’s Dead Moon arc. And speaking of the manga, Mangaka Naoko Takeuchi isn’t just credited for the original work, but she’s also supervising the movie overall. Chiaki Kon will be directing both movies over at Toei Animation.
