While the infamous spin-off manga to Cells At Work! finally got its long-awaited TV anime adaptation, the manga itself is also ending soon. And now, Morning magazine has announced Shigemitsu Harada and Issei Hatsuyoshiya’s spin-off manga will end in its next chapter on January 21, 2021.
As previously announced, the series will end with the eight volume. It will hit the shelves on February 22, 2021.
Cells At Work! mangaka Akane Shimizu supervises the Cells At Work! Black manga. Meanwhile, Kodansha has released the series internationally as Cells at Work! Code Black. Here is how they describe its story:
The manga and anime Cells at Work! showed you what happens when a young, healthy body gets in trouble … but what if the body wasn’t so young, and was never very healthy? This new take stars a fresh-faced Red Blood Cell and his friend, the buxom White Blood Cell, as they struggle to keep themselves and their world together through alcoholism, smoking, erectile dysfunction, athlete’s foot, gout … it’s literal body horror! Whoever this guy is, he’s lucky his cells can’t go on strike!
The TV anime is currently airing in Japan, alongside the second season of the main Cells At Work! TV anime.
