The legendary mangaka duo of Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba have teamed up once again after bringing us Death Note and Bakuman. And now, their latest manga together, Platinum End is also getting a TV anime adaptation. And just in case you missed it, here’s the PV:
And now, the staff have revealed a brand new key visual featuring the anime’s two main characters:
Miyu Irino will be voicing the main character, Mirai Kakehashi, while Yui Ogura is voicing the angel, Nasse. The staff have also revealed the character visuals for both of them as well:
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind’s Hideya Takahashi will be directing the series, while No Game, No Life’s Jouji Oodate is designing the characters. Meanwhile, Signal.MD will be animating the series, which premieres in Autumn 2021 via TBS in Japan.
Viz distributes the manga in the west with an English translation. Here’s how they describe its story:
As his classmates celebrate their middle school graduation, troubled Mirai is mired in darkness. But his battle is just beginning when he receives some salvation from above in the form of an angel. Now Mirai is pitted against 12 other chosen humans in a battle in which the winner becomes the next god of the world. Mirai has an angel in his corner, but he may need to become a devil to survive.
