Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s 8th issue for 2021 has just dropped, and it has a pretty big announcement. The issue revealed that Yuuki Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku manga about a ninja and his quest for the elixir of immortality is getting a television anime adaptation.
Kaku himself released a comment about the anime adaptation, and it reads:
An anime adaptation! … it makes me so happy but, it hasn’t really sunk in yet and it feels like a dream. To all the anime staff, I leave the characters of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku in your capable hands. Lord Reality, if this is a dream, please do not wake me up.
Unlike most upcoming TV anime, the series has now officially ended, wrapping up today, January 25, 2021. The series follows Gabimaru, who was previously hailed as the strongest ninja. However, he quit his job as he says he has nothing left to live for. The village tried to execute him, but he kept surviving every sorty of execution they tried with to end his life. His executioner, Sagiri Asaemon says he still has some lingering attachment to life, and issues him a mission to find the elixir of immortality.
