It looks like an era is about to end soon. Sony has announced that they have now halted production of all PlayStation 4 Slim models in japan, with the exception of one model, which is the “Jet Black” 500GB model. They have also halted production of the PlayStation 4 Pro models for Japan as well.

The PS4 launched in 2014 and had a very successful run, becoming one of Sony’s best-selling consoles of all time. With production for all but one models stopping, it really does seem that Sony is now looking to the future. They have now also announced that they will be ramping up the production of the PlayStation 5 with production lines now freed up.

The PlayStation 5 has already launched around the world. It first launched last November 12 in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.
