After years of speculation, it looks like we are going back to the Sinnoh region! That’s right folks, during their latest Pokemon Presents livestream, The Pokemon Company has officially announced that their 4th Generation games, Diamond and Pearl, are finally getting remakes. Their official titles will be Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. They will be available for the Nintendo Switch.
These two new games are coming sometime in Late 2021 and will update the original 4th Gen games, but still retain their original aesthetics. Both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl will be available globally for the Nintendo Switch.
ILCA, Inc., the studio behind Pokemon Home, will be developing the games, with ICLA’s Yuichi Ueda and Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda co-directing. Expect Nintendo and The Pokemon Company to reveal more details in the days to come.
Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl originally released in Japan in 2006 for the Nintendo DS. In fact, they were the first Pokemon titles for the Nintendo DS consoles.
