The live-action movie adaptation of Homura Kawamoto and Tohru Naomura’s Kakegurui manga have now updated. It reveals that the sequel movie’s official title is Kakegurui: Zettai Zetsumei Russian Roulette (Kakegurui: Last Resort Russian Roulette). It also reveals a new trailer which also reveals the theme song, “checkmate” by milet.

Both the website and video reveal that the movie will premiere in Japanese theatres of April 29, 2021. And not only that, but the staff also revealed a brand new key visual for the movie as well:

The trailer teases Minami Hamabe as Yumeko Jabami, but also Johnny’s West member Ryuusei Fujii as new gambler Makuro Shikigami. The latter will be an original character that the second movie will introduce. As for the movie itself, it will premiere sometime in May 2021. The announcement also confirmed that Tsutomu Hanabusa will be returning at the helm of the movie as director. He will also be writing the screenplay alongside Minato Takano.

These movies are part of the live-action Kakegurui series which adapt Homura Kawamoto and Tohru Naomura’s Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler manga. Netflix is now streaming the anime, as well as the first movie. Here’s how they describe the live-action’s story:
