The live-action movie series adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s Rurouni Kenshin manga is returning with a not one, but two new movies! And now, Warner Bros Japan has released a new trailer for the second of these two movies. It features Kenshin in his days as the hitman called Battousai, as well as how he met his wife, Tomoe.

The staff also revealed a new Key Visual for the second movie, which is titled “The Beginning”.

The main cast, which includes Takeru Sato (Kenshin Himura), Emi Takei (Kaoru kamiya), Munetaka Aoki (Sanosuke Sagara), Tao Tsuchiya (Misao Makimachi), Kasumi Arimura (Tomoe Yukishiro), Issey Takahashi (Kogoro Katsura), and Yosuke Eguchi (Hajime Saito) will all be returning. Joining them will be Mackenyu Arata as antagonist Enishi Yukishiro. Meanwhike, Director Keishi Otomo is also returning at the helm of the films as well.

Warner Bros. has confirmed that these will be the final films for the franchise, and it will be covering the final arc from Watsuki’s beloved manga., which is the Jinchuu arc, though it will have a bit of a different story. “The Final” will follow Kenshin’s conflict with the mysterious arms dealer, Enishi. Meanwhile, The Beginning will be a prequel of sorts, and will tell the story of how Kenshin got his iconic scar.
