Gundam Hathaway is one of the most anticipated anime movies this year. It already had fans in the Philippines talking, as still images revealed the movie’s Philippine setting. And as the anime’s official Twitter Page released its latest teaser trailer, it got Philippine fans talking even more. The video reveals a fight scene which looks like it’s taking place in the southern Philippine city of Davao. It also has a glimpse of the iconic Philippine fastfood chain, Jollibee.

The video also teases the Gundam Penelope, more fight scenes, and the theme song “Flash” by Alexandros.

Meanwhile, the video confirms the anime’s new May 7, 2021 release. Sunrise originally planned to release the anime in July of last year, but moved it back to May this year. It will adapt Gundam creator Yoshiyuki “Kill’em All” Tomino’s Hathaway’s Flash novel, which serves as a direct sequel to his Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika Children novel. The anime itself will serve as a sequel to the classic Char’s Counterattack anime film.

Gundam Wing character designer Shukou Murase will direct the movie, with Yasuyuki Muto writing the screenplay. And much like all Gundam anime, Sunrise will also be animating the film.
