Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka’s
Drinking Diving manga Grand Blue Dreaming, or just Grand Blue, has gained quite the fanbase since its anime adaptation aired. The manga is famous for being downright hilarious, and fans are still taking about the series. Unfortunately, Good! Afternoon magazine has revealed that the manga is going on hiatus. This is because one of the two mangaka has recently been hospitalised.
The announcement did not mention which of the two mangaka was hospitalised, nor did it mention the reason for the sudden emergency. However, they did note that he is now recovering, and the manga will return in June. As for the manga itself, it recently went back from hiatus last March after Inoue suffered some back pain due to overwork.
The series received a TV anime adaptation back in 2018, and then a live-action movie adaptation last year. Here is how Kodansha Comics describes the manga in English:
After moving out on his own to a seaside town, Iori Kitahara makes a college debut he never anticipated. A new chapter of his life unfolds, full of diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a gaggle of lovable bastards! Idiot-expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale filled with booze-fueled antics!
