The TV anime adaptation of Naoki Yamakawa and Akinari Nao’s I’m Standing on a Million Lives manga is certainly one of last year’s most underrated anime. And now, Warner Bros. Japan has revealed the second PV for the upcoming second season. The video features new footage, as well as announces the anime’s July 2, 2021 premiere date.
As previously revealed, Kanako Takatsuki is returning, and she will perform the new ED theme song “Subversive”. The artiste previously performed the first season’s OP theme song. Meanwhile, VTuber Kaede Higuchi will perform the OP song titled “Baddest”. Much of the cast from the first season will also be returning to reprise their roles.
The first season was a huge success, with the mangaka themselves reporting that their manga sales increased eleven-fold after the anime started airing. As for the second season, it will pick up where the first season left off, with the “Heroes” becoming stronger and adding more party members.
Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime out west, and here’s how they describe its story:
Aloof and logical middle school third-year Yusuke Yotsuya is transported to a game-like alternate world. He becomes a third player and takes on a dangerous quest with his classmates Iu Shindo and Kusue Hakozaki, who were transported there earlier. The cold Yusuke eschews emotionalism and examines all elements with detachment, sometimes even toying with the lives of his companions. Can he protect his party from attacking monsters, difficult incidents, and powerful scheming enemies and win the game?
Ani-One Asia is now streaming the first season of the anime for free via YouTube:
