Made in Abyss fans, rejoice! The anime adaptation of Akihito Tsukushi’s Made in Abyss manga will be returning for a second season! They revealed it via the official website, and announced that its official title is Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Oogonkyou. The staff also revealed that it will be coming in 2022, as well as revealing a new visual:
Unfortunately, the website did not reveal any further details yet. Expect the staff to announce more information in the days to come.
Meanwhile, the official website also revealed a new Made in Abyss video game! It will be an action RPG titled Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness. Tsukushi himself is supervising the series, and they will be releasing it via the PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC (Steam). They also confirmed that the game will come in English, as well as Japanese.
The anime previously received an anime movie titled MADE IN ABYSS: Dawn of The Deep. It even premiered here in Singapore last August. The story is set in a world where a gigantic pit/cave remains to be mostly unexplored, and because of this, many creatures aseem to rise up from its depths, while relics and other treasures continue to be found. It follows an orphaned girl named Rico, who wants to be a “Cave Raider”, an adventurer who explores the “Abyss”, just like her mother. One day, as she begins her explorations, she finds a young boy, who actually happens to be a robot.
