An episode of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Omega recently got fans talking because VTuber Pekora seems to have made a cameo. Unfortunately, that Pekora-like mob character isn’t Pekora after all. And it looks like the anime violated some of Hololive’s copyright claims.

In response to this, the anime’s production committee has released a statement via Twitter. They apologized to everyone for the character and announced changes. This will include consulting with hololive parent company Cover Corp to replace the character design. In other words, the Pekora lookalike will be changed with the anime’s rebroadcast, Blu-Ray/DVD release, or any future release.

As for the anime itself, it is currently airing in Japan. It adapts Yukiya Murasaki’s How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord light novel series. Netflix is currently streaming the first season here in Southeast Asia… but expect that the Pekora lookalike would not be there anymore if ever they stream the second season.
