Kadokawa has announced that Hotondoshindeiru’s Uncle From Another World is getting a TV anime adaptation. They also posted a new video where they “interview” a “random guy” in a mock documentary. In the video, our “random guy” talks about his thoughts on isekai and the manga itself. He seems to think that Uncle From Another World getting a TV anime is “fake news”.
Yen Press released the manga in English, and here is how they describe its story:
Seventeen years ago, Takafumi’s uncle fell into a coma, but now he’s back like a man risen from his grave. Soon, Takafumi discovers two bizarre things: His uncle treasures video games above all else, and, while comatose, he was actually transported to another world as some heroic guardian! Now, not only does Takafumi have to room with an uncle who is literally magical, he also has to catch the guy up on two decades of history—smartphones, high-speed internet, modern anime tropes…and the traumatic outcome of the ’90s console war!
Not much is currently known about this new comedic isekai anime yet. This includes its cast, staff, studio, episode number, and release window. Expect them to reveal more details about the anime in the days to come.
