In 1966, Ultraman changed Japanese TV forever. And as the series celebrates its 55th anniversary, the official Ultraman YouTube channel has started streaming the series online. Tsuburaya Productions (Gridman), which produces the series, owns the YouTube channel, so you can guarantee that it is 100% legal.
They have also released the second episode already as well. In fact, the channel is also currently streaming other Ultraman TV series. These include Ultraman Galaxy, Ultraman Cosmos, Ultraman Trigger, and many more. They’re also streaming some of Tsuburaya’s other titles as well, including Mirrorman.
Here is how the channel is describing its story:
A pair of strange illuminated spheres streak over Lake Ryugamori. A red orb chasing a blue orb, are both being tracked by Agent Hayata of the Science Special Search Party, also known as the “Science Patrol.” Trying to keep up with their tremendous speed, the red sphere collides with Hayata’s aircraft in mid-air. Hayata is summarily resurrected by a towering silver and red humanoid extraterrestrial from the “Land of Light” in Nebula M78, who merges with the Earthman and bestows upon him the “Beta Capsule,” a device that will allow him to transform his shape at will.
Among the other upcoming Ultraman projects include Hideaki Anno and Studio Khara’s upcoming Shin Ultraman movie. Unfortunately, the studio was forced to delay it due to Covid-19. There’s also Production I.G. and Netflix’s 3DCG anime adaptation of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi’s Ultraman manga. The series is getting a second season, though there’s no release date for that just yet.
