Good news Jujutsu Kaisen fans, because Gege Akutami will finally be resuming work on the series according to Shounen Jump’s Twitter Page. The hiatus began last June 21 inside the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump magazine’s Issue #29. According to the magazine, the mangaka was suffering from “poor health,” though did not elaborate what his condition was.

When he took the break, Akutami promised that his hiatus will last for about a month. And from the looks of things, the hiatus will be lasting a bit shorter than that. He also assured fans that his condition was not anything serious. Thankfully, it looks like the mangaka is now recovering from that with this new announcement.

Previously, Akutami has stated that he plans to end Jujutsu Kaisen’s story in two years.  Akutami also said that he has already decided on how he plans the manga to end for Megumi Fushigoro. Unfortunately, he also admitted that he doesn’t know how the story will end for Sakuna. Here is how MyAnimeList describes its story:

Idly indulging in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, high schooler Yuuji Itadori spends his days at either the clubroom or the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the strange when he unknowingly encounters a cursed item. Triggering a chain of supernatural occurrences, Yuuji finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of Curses—dreadful beings formed from human malice and negativity—after swallowing the said item, revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the “King of Curses.”

Yuuji experiences first-hand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, he begins to walk down a path from which he cannot return—the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
