Ladies and gentlemen, we are getting a brand new Detactive Conan anime! This time, it will be a TV anime, and it will be adapting Takahiro Arai’s Meitantei Conan Keisatsu Gakkou Hen Wild Police Story. The combined 36th and 37th issue of Weekly Shounen Sunday made the announcement.
The story takes place seven years before the events of Detective Conan. It focuses on Rei Furuya, Jinpei Matsuda, Kenji Hagiwara, Wataru Date, and Hiromitsu Morifushi during their time at the Metropolitan Police Academy. The spin-off manga itself is already completed, as it ran from October 2019 until November 2020. It had 13 chapters and two volumes. Unfortunately, the magazine did not reveal any further details on the TV anime adaptation just yet.
Weekly Shounen Sunday also announced that Gosho Aoyama’s original Detective Conan Manga is going on hiatus. It will be making its return sometime in October, within the magazine’s issue #46.
