Demons Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc Will Not Be Toned Down says Fuji TV Executive
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s second season will be adapting the Entertainment District arc of the manga. Now, the anime will be airing in Fuji TV, which is a mainstream Japanese TV network. And like most mainstream TV network, they tend to lean more towards family friendly shows. Naturally, since the new season is set in a Red Light District, it has raised plenty of concerns on whether they will be toning down the manga’s story in the anime. Fret not, because a Fuji TV executive has promised that they would not.
Yuriko Nakamura, head of programming at Fuji TV, was asked whether the network would ask the staff to make some changes to the anime, as they, a family-friendly network, might show the series to kids. To this, she replied that they want to broadcast the show without any changes at all. Nakamura also commented on the anime’s success as well:
“It’s thanks to the combined efforts of Shueisha, Aniplex, and Ufotable that we are able to broadcast a series that’s become a societal phenomenon, and which has been so well-received by viewers. It’s inspiring, and I think we have been fulfilling our role as a television network in delivering the series to viewers.”
So there you have it folks, they will not be toning down the anime, which will have both violence, as well as possible sexual tones because of its Red Light District setting. The network also aired the first season, which was also pretty violent in of itself.
Fuji TV previously announced that they will be airing the anime weekly. To be exact, they will broadcast the second season every Sunday night at 11:15 p.m. This new arc will take place at the Yoshiwara red-light district. It will center on Tengen Uzui, the sound Hashira, who is looking for his missing wives in Yoshiwara. ufotable will also be animating this new season, much like the TV anime and movie. It follows the Mugen Train film, which takes place right after the events of the TV anime.
